About
St Conleth’s Infant School is a Catholic primary institution located opposite St Conleth’s Parish Church on the Naas Road in Newbridge, County Kildare. The school embraces an inclusive ethos, welcoming children from all backgrounds and providing a nurturing environment that links learning with the wider community. Its curriculum is delivered through a broad subject range and is supported by a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, with dedicated spaces that encourage exploration and play‑based education. Key facilities include a modern school hall, well‑equipped general classrooms, a spacious playground, and specialised areas such as the Seomra Draiochta (resource room) for targeted support. The Early Intervention Class, established in 2011, offers tailored provision for younger children with additional needs, staffed by a teacher and support assistants. Environmental stewardship is promoted through the Green‑Schools programme and Active Schools initiatives, fostering healthy lifestyles and sustainability awareness among pupils.
History
St Conleth’s Infant School was constructed in 1953 under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and was operated by the Holy Family Sisters until the year 2000. The Early Intervention Class was introduced in September 2011 to serve children aged three to five from the Newbridge area and its surroundings.
