About
St. Kevin’s National School serves the parish of Our Lady of Victories and the surrounding community of Sallynoggin, providing primary education within a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school places a strong emphasis on holistic education, ensuring that each pupil’s academic, personal and social development is supported. Teaching is described as creative, attentive and responsive to individual needs, with a curriculum that is delivered to the highest standards while encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. The ethos of the school is encapsulated in its Latin motto “Sapere Aude” – “Dare to Know”. This guiding principle promotes a culture where both pupils and staff are encouraged to question, explore and develop their talents without fear of being different. The school’s facilities, situated on the historic site of the original boys’ and girls’ schools, accommodate a range of classroom activities and support the delivery of a broad, balanced programme of learning.
History
The present St. Kevin’s National School is the result of an amalgamation in 1993 of three separate schools established in 1967 – a boys’ school, a girls’ school and an infants’ school. The merged school continues to operate on the site of the original boys’ and girls’ schools, serving the local parish and its environs.
