About
St. Margaret’s National School is a small Catholic primary school situated in the village of St Margarets, north County Dublin, close to Dublin Airport. The school serves the local parish community and provides a nurturing environment where children develop academically, spiritually and socially. The curriculum is underpinned by a Christian ethos, with daily prayer and religious instruction that prepares pupils for the sacraments of First Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. A strong emphasis is placed on mutual respect, high professional standards and close partnership with families, fostering a safe and happy learning atmosphere. Environmental stewardship is a core element of the school’s identity. The school has been recognised with multiple Eco‑School awards, including three Active Flags, eight Green Flags and an Amber Flag, reflecting its commitment to sustainability. Innovative programmes such as the Curious Minds Platinum Awards highlight the school’s focus on digital learning, with notable achievements in Minecraft Education, mathematics and engineering. Partnerships with local organisations, such as the Dublin Airport Authority and Keelings, enrich the curriculum through community‑led projects like the Pocket Forest and healthy fruit schemes.
