About
St. Mary’s National School is a co‑educational primary school under the patronage of the Church of Ireland, situated on a spacious site in Waterpark, Carrigaline, County Cork. The school benefits from extensive outdoor facilities, including multiple playgrounds, grassed areas, a developing school garden, outdoor seating, and a recently installed climbing wall, all of which support learning in a natural environment. Eight mainstream classes and two dedicated classes for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder provide a inclusive setting that caters to a wide range of abilities. The school’s ethos is built around its motto, *Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí* – “Praise the youth and they will flourish”, guiding a holistic approach to education that nurtures spiritual, religious, emotional, intellectual and physical development. The curriculum incorporates the “Follow Me” Religious Education programme, parish links, weekly assemblies and community celebrations, fostering a strong sense of belonging and respect. Recent extensions and refurbishments have modernised the learning environment, reinforcing the school’s commitment to delivering a caring, nurturing atmosphere where every child can achieve their full potential.
