About
St Mary’s Parish Primary School is a vibrant community primary school that prides itself on offering a “big school with a small school feeling.” The school provides a nurturing environment where pupils benefit from close‑knit relationships with peers and staff, while still enjoying a broad range of resources and extracurricular opportunities. Emphasis is placed on a balanced curriculum that supports both academic development and personal growth, fostering confidence, creativity and a love of learning from early years through to the end of primary education. In 2021 the school was awarded a grant under the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), part of the EU‑funded NextGenerationEU programme. This funding has enabled the introduction of innovative digital initiatives aimed at narrowing the digital divide for learners at risk of educational disadvantage. The school now incorporates numeracy, problem‑solving and computational thinking across the curriculum, using tools such as robotics and coding to enhance literacy and overall curriculum delivery, ensuring pupils are equipped with the skills needed for the modern world.
