About
St. Monica’s Infant Girls’ School is an all‑girls primary school in Edenmore, North Dublin, catering for pupils from Junior Infants to First Class. The school emphasises a warm, welcoming atmosphere where each child is encouraged to develop academically, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is an inclusive community that welcomes children of all nationalities, faiths and abilities, and actively involves parents in the educational journey. The campus is shared with St Eithne’s Senior Girls’ School and offers extensive outdoor facilities, including a large yard with a stage, playground, activity trail, outdoor classroom and a discovery garden. Indoor resources feature a spacious P.E. hall with stage, a well‑stocked library and bright classrooms equipped with interactive touch‑screen boards. As a DEIS (Delivering Equality of Opportunities in Schools) school, St Monica’s benefits from reduced class sizes, additional staff support, free school lunches funded by the Department of Social Protection, and extra funding for resources. A Home School Community Liaison Teacher provides free workshops for parents and a range of in‑class activities such as Maths for Fun and Literacy for Fun. The curriculum follows the Department of Education’s Primary School Curriculum, covering English, Irish, maths, science, arts, physical education, religious education and personal, social and health education. The school enriches learning through a broad programme of STEM weeks, national and international events (e.g., National Tree Day, European School Sports Day, World Book Day) and has earned awards such as the Active Flag, Green Flags and Discovery Primary Science and Maths Awards.
