St. Patrick’s Junior School is a co‑educational Catholic junior national school serving children from Junior Infants to Second Class. The school accommodates approximately 284 pupils across four Junior Infant classes and three classes in each of the other year groups, supported by a team of teachers, special needs assistants, a secretary and a caretaker. The curriculum follows the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) guidelines, incorporating the Primary Curriculum Framework with a focus on key competencies, inclusive education and the holistic development of each child. The school’s ethos promotes a welcoming, inclusive community that respects all religious traditions and cultural backgrounds. It aims to create an atmosphere of love, security and trust, with regular prayer and participation in the Christian liturgical calendar, while also ensuring that children of all faiths feel valued. Uniforms are prescribed for everyday wear and physical education, and the daily timetable runs from 8:50 am to 2:30 pm, with structured learning activities and designated lunch periods. Emphasis is placed on open parent‑teacher communication and active parental involvement to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
