About

St Paul’s Primary School is a vibrant Catholic‑ethos primary school serving over 700 pupils with a dedicated team of 38 teaching staff, special‑needs assistants and ancillary personnel. The school embraces diversity in race, culture, religion, gender and ability, fostering a warm, respectful and welcoming community where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. A strong emphasis is placed on holistic development, with a broad curriculum that includes core subjects, music, drama, art and a wide range of extra‑curricular programmes designed to nurture individual talents and promote wellbeing. The school operates from a state‑of‑the‑art campus opened in 2020, featuring 32 modern classrooms and a two‑room Special Unit. Technological integration is central to learning, with frequent access to full class sets of Chromebooks and iPads. Extensive sports facilities include indoor halls, four basketball courts, a full‑size all‑weather pitch (completed 2021/2022) and well‑equipped playgrounds, complemented by a rich selection of PE equipment. Musical education is supported by a variety of instruments and resources, and an after‑school programme provides additional enrichment opportunities for pupils.

History

The original school block for St Paul’s Primary School was laid in 1980 and completed in 1981 at a cost of £635,000. In May 2019 the sod was turned for a brand‑new building on the site of the former football pitch. This new facility, comprising 32 classrooms, a two‑room Special Unit and modern amenities, was constructed at a cost of over €9 million and opened in 2020, marking a significant development in the school’s history.
