About
St Seton’s Secondary School is a welcoming Catholic secondary school situated in the heart of the Ballyfermot community. It is committed to nurturing each pupil’s spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development within a safe, supportive and respectful environment. Teaching and learning are inspired by the Gospel values of love, hope, truth and justice, and the school strives to provide high‑quality education that prepares students for further study, work and active citizenship. The school operates under the joint trusteeship of the Le Chéile Schools Trust and CEIST, bringing together the traditions of the De La Salle Brothers, the Dominican Sisters and the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul. This collaborative ethos creates an inclusive educational facility that draws on the legacy of three former schools – St John’s College, Caritas College and St Dominic’s College – to offer a broad curriculum and a wide range of extra‑curricular activities. The aim is to give every boy and girl the opportunity to thrive academically and personally, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
History
St Seton’s Secondary School was established through the amalgamation of three long‑standing Ballyfermot schools – St John’s College, Caritas College and St Dominic’s College – each of which had provided education for over 50 years. Under the joint trusteeship of the Le Chéile Schools Trust and CEIST, the new school continues the combined ethos, founding traditions and charitable spirit of its predecessor institutions, delivering inclusive Catholic education to the local community.
