History

St. Vincent de Paul Senior Primary School was founded in 1928 on Griffith Avenue as a parish school run by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, locally known as the French Sisters of Charity, to serve the growing Marino area. By 1930 the school accommodated up to 700 pupils, with many classes containing fifty to sixty children. Over the decades the school has evolved, adding a spacious school hall and becoming a cherished institution for generations of local families. In September 2025 the school will become co‑educational, welcoming boys into 2nd class for the first time.
