About

Tullamore Educate Together National School is a co‑educational, multi‑denominational primary school serving Junior Infants to Sixth Class across eight classes. The school follows the Educate Together ethos of inclusive, learner‑centred education founded on human‑rights principles, democracy and equality. A qualified teaching team delivers a curriculum that balances rigorous academic standards with high behavioural expectations, ensuring every pupil receives a solid foundation for life in the twenty‑first century. The campus is being expanded to include a dedicated hall and a specialised ASD unit – The ARC – which provides tailored support for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As the first and only multi‑denominational primary school in County Offaly, the school prides itself on welcoming children of all religious, cultural and social backgrounds, fostering a community where “Learn Together to Live Together” is lived out daily. Facilities also support a broad range of extracurricular activities, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development and equal access for all learners.

History

Tullamore Educate Together National School was founded in 2004 by a group of parents seeking an alternative to denominational education. It became the first and only multi‑denominational primary school in County Offaly. Cathy Lyons assumed the role of Principal in January 2007. Since its inception, enrolment has grown to over two hundred pupils, supported by a teaching staff of twelve, a Special Needs Assistant and three ancillary staff. The school is currently undergoing extensions to add a new hall and an ASD unit (The ARC).
