About

Two Mile Community National School, situated in Aughaleemore, Killarney, is a state‑supported primary school founded in September 2017. As the first Community National School in County Kerry, it operates under the patronage of the Kerry Education and Training Board (ETB) and follows the national Primary School Curriculum. The school’s ethos is child‑centred and inclusive, embracing a multi‑belief environment that reflects the values of the Goodness Me Goodness You (GMGY) programme. GMGY provides a holistic framework that integrates strands such as “We are a CNS”, “My Stories”, “Thinking Time” and “Religions and Beliefs”, aiming to develop each child’s potential as a unique individual. The school offers a broad range of enrichment opportunities. It participates in the Green Schools initiative, maintains an “Incredible Edibles” school garden, and engages with the Blue Star and Active Schools programmes, promoting health, wellbeing and environmental awareness. Academic enrichment is supported through the Curious Minds Science Awards and a dedicated Music Generation project, fostering creativity and scientific curiosity alongside the core curriculum. Strong community involvement underpins school life, with active parent partnerships, a vibrant Parents’ Association and regular events highlighted on the school calendar. These collaborative structures, together with the backing of the Kerry ETB, provide a supportive framework for high‑quality education and the overall development of pupils.
