About
Westport Educate Together National School is a recently established primary school situated in Westport Woods on The Quay, County Mayo. As an Educate Together school it is state‑funded, follows the Irish National Curriculum and is non‑fee‑paying, welcoming children of all backgrounds. The school operates on a co‑educational, child‑centred ethos that places equality, justice and democratic participation at the heart of everyday learning. There are no school uniforms, and the timetable runs from 8.30 am, finishing at 1.10 pm for Junior and Senior Infants and at 2.10 pm for the remaining classes. The school’s approach is firmly rooted in partnership with parents, pupils, staff and the wider community. Policies are designed to give every child equal access to learning opportunities, regardless of identity, and to encourage the full development of each child’s abilities. By involving families in decision‑making and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment, Westport Educate Together aims to enable every student to achieve their full potential.
